Inspiration

At MoodMotion, we wanted to create a platform that addresses the rising mental health struggles by combining movement and self-care. Inspired by the idea that small, consistent actions can make a big difference, we built MoodMotion to help people take control of their mental health, one movement at a time. We believe movement should meet you where you are, not where the world expects you to be.

What it does

MoodMotion is a personalized fitness platform that helps users improve both their physical and mental well-being. The process is simple:

  1. Input your current mood.
  2. Choose how much time you have available.
  3. Select your preferred difficulty level.

From there, we recommend a workout tailored to your needs, whether it’s a quick stretch, a strength session, or a cardio burst. Alongside, we recommend a Spotify playlist based on your mood to help with your workout. Our goal is to make fitness accessible and enjoyable, no matter where you are in life.

How we built it

We built MoodMotion by focusing on personalization. The platform adjusts the workout based on your mood, available time, and fitness level. This creates a customized experience that encourages movement without judgment, making it easy for people to incorporate exercise into their daily lives. We also made the design simple and user-friendly to ensure accessibility for everyone.

Challenges we ran into

Throughout the development of MoodMotion, we faced several challenges. One major obstacle was balancing personalization with accessibility. We wanted to create something that would work for people of all fitness levels and emotional states. Another challenge was overcoming the misconception that physical exercise and mental health are separate; we had to show that movement can be a powerful tool for improving mental well-being, whether its a simple movement or a full workout.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of creating a platform that combines mental health and fitness in a way that feels inclusive and supportive. MoodMotion has been designed to help people of all abilities find a workout that fits their needs, and we’re thrilled to see it having a positive impact on users. We’ve also built a strong, empathetic community that supports mental well-being through movement.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned the power of small, consistent changes. Even brief moments of movement can have a positive impact on mental health, and we’ve seen firsthand how MoodMotion helps users feel better, both physically and emotionally. We also learned the importance of making mental health and fitness accessible to all, no matter where you are in your journey.

What's next for MoodMotion

We’re excited to continue evolving MoodMotion. In the future, we plan to expand our library of workouts, incorporate more personalized features, and integrate additional tools to help users track their mental and physical progress. We also plan on implementing AI using an API to have it generate more exercised or even activities that the user may want to specify. We also aim to continue spreading the message that changing the world, starts with YOU!
