Inspiration
Mental health is often ignored because tracking it feels like a chore. I wanted to build something so simple that anyone could log their mood in seconds — and get meaningful AI insights that actually help them feel better.
What it does
MoodMate is an AI-powered daily mood tracker and wellness companion. It helps you:
- Log your daily mood with a simple emoji selector
- Get personalized AI wellness tips based on your current mood
- Track your mood streak — consecutive days logged
- View your weekly mood chart at a glance
- Get suggested activities tailored to how you feel
- See your mood history calendar color coded by mood
- Receive weekly AI mood analysis and patterns
How I built it
Built entirely using MeDo — no manual coding required. I described the app in natural language and MeDo generated the complete full-stack application including React frontend, Supabase database, and Gemini 2.5 Flash AI for personalized wellness insights.
Challenges I ran into
Making the AI responses feel genuinely empathetic and helpful — not robotic. The wellness tips needed to feel personal and relevant to each specific mood, not generic advice.
What I learned
The simplest apps can have the biggest impact. A 5-second mood check-in with meaningful AI feedback can genuinely improve someone's mental wellbeing over time.
