Inspiration

Many people struggle to express how they feel or don’t know where to turn when emotions feel overwhelming. We wanted to create a simple, non-intimidating way for people to feel seen and emotionally supported without pressure.

What it does

MoodLink allows users to check in with their mood in seconds and receive supportive content or anonymous connection with others experiencing similar emotions. It transforms emotional check-ins into a shared, human experience.

How we built it

We built MoodLink as a lightweight web app using a modern frontend framework, a real-time backend for storing mood data, and an AI layer to generate empathetic responses and suggestions. The focus was on speed, simplicity, and accessibility.

Challenges we ran into

Designing an experience that felt supportive without being intrusive was a major challenge. We also had to carefully handle anonymity and ensure the app didn’t feel overwhelming or overly clinical.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created an intuitive, emotionally aware experience that works in just a few taps. Seeing how easily users can relate to others’ moods was a strong validation of the idea.

What we learned

We learned that small, thoughtful interactions can have a big emotional impact. Simplicity and empathy matter more than complex features when building human-centered products.

What's next for Moodlink

Next, we plan to implement a working AI support system, to keep users encourage
