Moodify is a feasible mobile application which provides users with quick resources & coping skills for nonemergencies while catering to their specific needs. It compiles numerous resources in one app.

Inspiration

Inspired by the need for more effective and efficient mental health apps. The majority of mobile apps act as a journal or simply a place for someone to vent. This motivation helped created Moodify, a user-friendly mental health support application.

What it does

The app provides a variety of mental health resources, all in one place. These resources include, but are not limited to, guided meditation, a list of nearby activities, emotion management strategies, music and immediate support from professionals.

How I built it

Made a functioning prototype in Marvel app by using our rough drafts made in Balsamiq Cloud. Using the rough Drafts ideas and concepts were taken and used to modify it into the app that it is today.

Challenges I ran into

The biggest challenge was differentiating Moodify apart from others. Mental health awareness has become more normalized, and as a result numerous apps were created. This is why it was crucial for Moodify to have a unique selling proposition.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Creating an application from scratch that effectively aims to mitigate mental health stigma. This has been a great learning experience and looking back at all the work completed is an accomplishment within itself.

What I learned

I learned how to make a Alexa home assistant application to use at home and discovered the marvel app features. Furthermore, I strengthened useful skills such as prioritization, organization and design.

What's next for Moodify

In the future Moodify will conduct much more extensive research regarding user experience. The app will include new innovative features which are beneficial and requested by our customers. Moodify is dedicated to providing preeminent and convenient mental health resources which is why we would reach out to mental health organizations. This way I can gain first hand insight on the needs in mental health services and learn about the assistance these organizations provide. Moodify hopes to better promotional and marketing strategies by improving our current platforms and seek more partnerships where the organizations are mutually benefiting. I hope to grow the success of Moodify by increasing our recurring users and encourage more users to upgrade for our premium account option for a monthly fee of $1.99.
