Inspiration

The cuteness of Moodeng the hippo and the intriguing mechanics of the Minesweeper game.

What it does

It’s essentially a Minesweeper game themed around Moodeng, featuring a cheerful and fun mood.

How we built it

We used Devvit by Reddit, combining a fun and interactive game with one of the most popular social media platforms—Reddit.

Challenges we ran into

It was very challenging because the concept of how the blocks work was new to us. We faced limitations both by design and community support. Additionally, integrating with Reddit’s design system posed its own challenges. However, the documentation was very helpful, even though some functionalities we needed weren’t available in this version of Devvit.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of how it turned out—it exceeded our expectations. Using Devvit and TypeScript, we successfully connected the dots and created a polished final product.

What we learned

We learned many new things during this project, including capabilities we didn’t know were possible. These insights can potentially enhance our main expertise in React and front-end development in general.
