Inspiration
We wanted to see how the moods of the hit songs and tempo changed over time.
What it does
Gets the top songs data from BuzzAngle and gets the bpm (tempo) and mood of the song from Musimap and mashes them together.
How we built it
We used the BuzzAngle API and Musimap API to get the data and created a webapp to display the data.
Challenges we ran into
Figuring out the API and finding out the correct songs via search and finding the intersection.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The three of us just got together yesterday evening and came up with a hacking idea and executed it.
What we learned
Buzzangle and Musimap APIs and the various rich datasets offered.
What's next for MoodCharts
Generate for more time periods and other interesting metadata.
