Seasonal allergies affect millions. We wanted to create a simple solution to help people avoid high pollen areas in real time.
What it does
PollenGuard tracks live pollen data and alerts users when they're in or near high pollen zones.
How we built it
Used a pollen API, integrated with location tracking, and built a lightweight app using JavaScript and Python (Flask).
Challenges we ran into
Finding reliable real-time pollen data and syncing alerts with user location accurately.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A working MVP with real-time alerts and a clean, responsive UI.
What we learned
Integrating live APIs, managing real-time location data, and optimizing for user experience.
What's next for PollenGuard
Adding wearable integration, custom allergy profiles, and expanding to cover more regions.
