Inspiration
We were inspired by the Warp Challenge and the Warp customizable interface. We wanted to create a more immersive coding experience that could potentially be added to the multitude of Warp features.
What it does
Mood Swings prompts the user to enter 1 of 3 possible emotions (happy, sad, calm) and changes the theme on VSCode to one that reflects that feeling. It also will play some tunes to set the mood.
How we built it
We used Python.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into several challenges. The team was split between Windows and Mac users so we had to ensure that the program was compatible with those operating systems.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We all survived our first Hackathon!!
What we learned
We learned how to standardize programs across Operating Systems such as Mac and Windows.
What's next for Mood Swings
We hope to eventually turn this program into a VSCode extension. We started this process during the Hackathon, but were not able to complete it due to time constraints. Another future development is to connect to the Spotify API to play a Spotify playlist based on your mood. The last development we would like to incorporate is a chatbot to allow the user to enter any emotion keyword.
