Inspiration

The idea came from a common moment we all face — not knowing what to listen to. We thought, “Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a super simple app that just gave you songs based on your mood?” That’s how Moodify was born!

What it does

Moodify lets users select their current mood — like Happy, Sad, Energetic, or Chill — and instantly provides music recommendations that match that mood. It displays curated song links using a clean, colorful interface, helping users vibe with the perfect tunes in just one click.

How we built it

We built Moodify as a beginner-friendly project using:

HTML to structure the page and create mood selection buttons.

CSS to style the interface with colorful backgrounds, rounded buttons, and clean fonts.

JavaScript to handle mood selection and dynamically display the playlist based on the user’s choice.

YouTube links were used for song recommendations, embedded directly through JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

Keeping it simple but functional: We wanted to keep the app beginner-friendly without using complex frameworks, which meant finding creative ways to make it interactive with just plain JavaScript.
