About the Project
Mood pet is a playful mood-tracking website inspired by the nostalgia of Tamagotchis. Instead of just logging your feelings in a static journal, you care for a little digital pet that thrives when you feed it bananas and reflect on your day through journal entries.
I was inspired by the idea that self-care doesn’t have to feel like a chore. It can be fun, lighthearted, and interactive. By connecting mood tracking with a virtual companion, the project encourages consistency and makes reflection more rewarding.
What I Learned
- How to combine front-end interactivity with simple data tracking.
- The importance of creating gentle, low-pressure ways to encourage journaling.
- That gamification can transform something as simple as writing down your thoughts into an engaging experience.
How I Built It
- Frontend: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Backend: A lightweight SQLite database and python Django
- Design: Simple, friendly visuals that evoke comforting vibes
