Mood Music

Inspiration

We were inspired by the movie-making process, and how the background music really sets the mood.

What it does

Mood Music uses the text from the scene in the movie of your life, as well as your sleep patterns from the night before (since mood is highly based on sleep - as MIT students, we would know), to generate some music that will play in the background of the scene!

How we built it

We built it using a flask framework, and we used the MusicGen model by Facebook on Huggingface to generate the music. We then used TerraAPI to get the sleep pattern data.

Challenges we ran into

It was difficult to learn all the frameworks in such a short amount of time.

We are proud that our project works!

What we learned

We learned a lot of technical skills, and we also learned how to manage our time and work together to get the job done!

What's next for Mood Music

There are a lot of features that can be added to Mood Music. For instance, it would be cool to have it generate music based on a recording of the actors acting out this scene, or to generate a longer song than it currently does.
