Inspiration
In today’s fast-paced world, mental and physical health often takes a backseat. Forgetting medications or not understanding one’s emotional state can lead to stress and health issues. This inspired us to create a solution that combines emotional well-being with health management.
What it does
The application serves two primary functions: Mood Detector: It asks users simple, reflective questions to analyze their mood and provides personalized feedback to encourage emotional well-being. Medication Reminder: It allows users to schedule medication reminders, ensuring they stay on top of their health routines with timely alerts.
How we built it
We developed the application using: Frontend: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create an interactive and user-friendly interface. Backend: Python/Node.js for processing user responses and managing reminders. Database: SQLite or Firebase to store user data like mood history and medication schedules. APIs: Integrated libraries for notifications and time-based alerts.
Challenges we ran into
Designing intuitive mood-based questions to capture a user’s emotional state accurately. Ensuring timely and reliable medication alerts without overloading users with notifications. Synchronizing the database and UI for a seamless user experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully implementing a system that detects and categorizes mood with simple yet effective prompts. Building a reliable medication reminder that works across devices. Creating a tool that bridges the gap between mental health awareness and physical health management.
What we learned
The importance of user-centered design to address practical health challenges. Developing time-sensitive notification systems for reminders. Gaining a deeper understanding of how technology can support mental and physical health.
