Inspiration
I initially came up with the moo.d website because of how important mental health awareness is for everyone. It can affect you regardless of age, gender, etc. It is so vital to keep track of our well-being and ensure we are doing the best for our mind and body! The application is styled in a way to hopefully give users a positive association with journaling which will motivate them to continue journaling.
What it does
moo.d is primarily a journal-tracking website that allows users to type about anything they'd like. It is a fairly simple application as the main goal was to provide an easy and simple UI that everyone can quickly understand how to use. Users can add a title, provide the date of entry which is auto-generated, and then begin typing!
How we built it
After the brainstorming process, a react app was quickly created with JavaScript and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
As a group of two with a time limit, this application was extremely difficult to make. There were several bugs and issues when it came to state changes. As a result, we had to cut some ideas out which was slightly disheartening.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are simply proud that the website works. The drawings turned out really well on the website. It was a tough but rewarding challenge.
What we learned
This project really heightened our respect for full-stack developers. It was an extremely difficult project with only two people. We cannot fathom how one person can produce a whole app so easily.
What's next for mood
There is a lot in store for mood! We want to hopefully add an emotion rating system with custom images and make it look even prettier design-wise! In addition, we would love to add sign in/log out options!
