Montage - piecing together your finance

Montage is a minimalistic, streamlined platform allowing seamless management of your finances. Aimed for younger audiences, but used for a lifetime.

Inspiration

We wanted to create something that would have a positive impact on all of us. We all are getting a student loan, we all have a credit card and we all want to invest soon. But there is nothing to help track all of this! Since we have not done any finance, we are getting thrown into the deepened; we want to make that a bit easier for all of us.

What it does

Montage is a web app that contains all your finances in one platform.

How we built it

We used Figma to initially develop ideas and work flow, and moved onto Qoom, where we used Javascript, HTML and CSS to bring it to life

Challenges we ran into

For our investments feature, we had the code running as a javascript file. However, the output was as a dictionary and we were unsure of how to display the Javascript output through the HTML file (but we persisted and kept trying, using stack overflow).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that the three of us were able to collaborate in our first hackathon, bringing our areas of expertise together despite how not all of us were had experience with Js and HTML

What we learned

We learnt so much about back-end coding and how front-end and back-end come together.

What's next for Montage - piecing together your finance

For the future, we hope to finish our project to the full extent.
