Inspiration

We want to build a game that is competitive, familiar but eye catching for players to enjoy playing and competing.

What it does

MonsterXO is a turn-based strategy game where two players choose their favorite monsters and compete in a tic-tac-toe match. Players take turns placing monster marks, aiming to outthink their opponent and claim victory on the grid.

How we built it

The game was built using the Turn Based Component to manage player turns, move validation, and win conditions. A clean board system handles tile selection, monster placement, and game state updates, while simple UI elements display turns and results clearly.

Challenges we ran into

We had difficulty to ensure turn logic, win detection, and state transitions were smooth and bug-free

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to create a game that involves two players for competing in a live game.

What we learned

We learnt to use the Turn Based Component to build a game

What's next for MonsterXO

We want to add more monsters, visual effects for winning moves, online matchmaking, and possibly new board sizes or game modes to expand replayability.
