What's next for Monsta Jammys
Monsta Jammys: Beneath the Bed What Inspired Me Everyone knows the lore. Everyone has felt that uneasy feeling — that something lurks beneath the bed. And who hasn't fallen asleep listening to music? Monsta Jammys was born from two of the most universal human experiences there are. I wanted to take that childhood fear that has haunted generations and flip it — give players control of it. Turn the nightmare into a playground. Make the thing under the bed yours to command. This is urban legend you can play. And that idea wouldn't leave me alone until I built it.
What I Learned I learned that moving forward with determination — even when you don't have all the answers — unlocks something real. A creative inner drive that I didn't know I had at this level. I love gaming. But this is the first time I felt this much joy creating something. Building a concept that might actually see the light of day — rising out of the nightmare of endless sleep — that hit different. What champions are made of isn't talent alone. It's deciding to keep going.
How I Built It About a week into the contest I asked myself a question that changed everything:
What if someone with no game development experience won big?
I held onto that feeling and built toward it. I used AI tools to help translate the vision in my head into concept art, game design documents, a player journey map, a production plan, and a visual identity — all while developing the story, the crew, the stages, and the gameplay systems in real time. Every image, every system, every character name came from the creative vision. The tools just helped me get it on the page.
The Challenges I Faced Time. I work full time. This was a race against the clock from day one. But every second was worth it. This project didn't just challenge me — it invigorated me. It reminded me what it feels like to be all in on something you believe in. To everyone involved in the Meta Horizon Creator Competition — the organizers, the judges, the fellow creators — thank you. From the heart. You all rock. I'm unsure what's next we'll see how this turns out together
