Inspiration
Optiver: We wanted to create a model that accurately reflected changes in stock prices due to headlines and social media posts. Game: Monkeys are cool.
What it does
We have two projects here, optivers challenge and our own website two player "game" called monkey madness.
How we built it
Optiver was built using python, the game was built using javascript. The games webserver is also run on our VMs, which we have implemented failover if one VM goes down.
Challenges we ran into
Optiver: Processing data into vectors for language processing, getting the models to produce good results. It was exciting to learn about the financial market, as well as language processing (some of the team members didn't have experience with this). Game: VMs were being dodgy and getting them intially spun up was an issue. Connecting everything, we had never used Javascript or html before so this was exciting. Getting it to work across different browsers was hard.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Optiver: Learned a lot along the way, got a functioning model Game:
What we learned
Optiver: Language processing, financial market, how to deal with specific errors. Game:
What's next for Monkey Mayhem
