It is scientifically proven that a smile can uplift one's spirit. For this reason, we present you Kai, your friendly AI monkey pet who greets you with the biggest smile and sweetest "Hi".

Inspiration

Life can be taxing and every now and then, we need a break or a friend to talk to. For this reason, we created an AI Monkey pet to uplift people's moods by engaging in conversation with them.

What it does

It uses vocal recognition to respond to the user's commands. This is to simulate a conversation with another being. MonkAI can hold simple conversations with commands like "Hi", "Hello", and "How are you?"

How we built it

We built MonkAI using Javascript, CSS, HTML

Challenges we ran into

  • Hosting the site locally
  • Setting up multiple language videos for MonkAI's response to user
  • Implementing the AI element of having a conversation with MonkAI
  • Getting MonkAI to respond to commands
  • Figuring out ways to implement the vocal response of MonkAI
