About the project

Inspiration

I tried many finance and budgeting apps, but they all felt too complex, cluttered, or overwhelming. I wanted something clean, simple, and fun — a tool that helps me track money without stress. That inspired MONi, a minimalist finance app with just the essentials and a playful personality.

What it does

MONi helps you:

• Track your income, expenses, and subscriptions easily
• View a clean snapshot of your money at any moment
• Enjoy a clutter-free design with a friendly, playful UI
• Unlock advanced insights through premium features powered by RevenueCat

It’s designed to be as simple as opening a notes app, but powerful enough to help you stay in control of your finances.

How we built it

We built MONi with Bolt AI for rapid prototyping and UI design, ensuring a clean and modern look. Then, we connected it with Expo for mobile deployment. For monetization, we integrated RevenueCat to handle subscriptions and premium features seamlessly, with support for both iOS and Android.

Challenges we ran into

• Keeping the design minimal while still useful
• Learning how to integrate payments in a hackathon timeframe
• Handling cross-platform issues (iOS vs Android display)
• Balancing playful design with the seriousness of finance

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Building a fully working mobile app in record time
