Inspiration

A personal assistant to manage money and potentially detect fraud. The inspiration was to have a standard financial banking app that has a smart AI assistant to discuss any financial needs.

What it does

The website features banking applications such as depositing and transferring money from an online transaction. Its most prominent feature is a chat with an AI assistant built with Sambanova to meet the concerns of the user's banking problems.

How we built it

The website was built with HTML and JavaScript with CSS for the frontend. The AI was built with the Sambanova API and was implemented with python.

Challenges we ran into

This was our first time coding a website completely from scratch and working with a LLM AI model.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to train the AI to answer everyday financial problems that an average consumer might face. Combining the backend with the frontend to have an AI assistant on the web page was one of the most difficult parts, but we were able to eventually pull it off.

What we learned

There are many extensions on VScode to help coding a website much simpler and API documentations are useful to avoid having to work from scratch.

What's next for MoneyHub

Although many people may not have access to traditional banks, we still want a way for people to financially connect with the people around them in a safe and secure manner. MoneyHub still has a long way to go in order to offer an easy to use solution for its users. The LLM can still be trained more to offer more accurate financial advice.
