Inspiration
When I was doing my undergraduate I had difficulty understanding where my money was being spent. So I tried using some of the apps that were already present but found it difficult to use them. So here I am trying to simplify budgeting for students and working professionals.
What it does
Currently it is very basic as I am still building it. For now it does basic stuff like you can add your spending. There is feature where in you create buckets/envelop and allocate some amount to that bucket. This helps you track how much money has been spent from a particular bucket/envelop.
How we built it
I started with website for which I used golang as my backend technology and angular for building the website. Then had to change the website idea as not many students would be attracted to website. Currently I am working on a mobile app which for which I am using Flutter
Challenges we ran into
I have never worked on mobile applications so it is completely new for new. Even flutter is very new and I had hard time initially creating the app in flutter.
What we learned
Connecting to users and letting them use our application and taking there feedback is very important. I had started with website and when I gave it to my friends they were not at all interested to use website. So it was quite a bit of setback for me as I had already developed at least 20-30% of features.
What's next for Money wisely
Get all the features on to the mobile app and take feedback from users and make those modifications
