Inspiration

Our inspiration came from realizing that people around us aren't as fiscally responsible as they should be. Moreover, peers underestimate the long-term potential of saving and investing. Instead, they chase short-term gratification without acknowledging the negative impact it has, as all the small purchases add up.

What does it do?

The app helps people keep themselves accountable and also assists in learning why it's so important to save money. It makes being financially responsible fun.

How does it do that?

Treeso has two parts: The upper part that makes the user accountable by growing a savings tree - the closer you are to your goal - the bigger the tree gets. The lower part helps you learn how to be better with money by providing fun stories and checking understanding of topic.

How it works?

Provides visual representation of your finances as a tree gets watered. Click through lessons to learn about first steps towards financial freedom.

How we built it

Brainstormed real pain points of why people aren't already competent in financial accountability. Drew initial sketches of the concept idea on paper. Start the designing of app screens in figma. Talked with mentors about our idea. Tried making a demo in android studio, but ditched it. Decided to make the final designs of our prototype in figma.

Challenges we ran into

Lack of clear vision for the idea Understanding the pains of the customer. Where do we make the demo? What will be the best revenue model? Trying to find unique selling point.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Having a team of mostly random people. Figma design for the app.

What we learned?

Collaborating on app design in figma. Working in a diverse team. Pitching basics.
