Inspiration
The fear of the general public on Bitcoin and the collective nostalgia of playing "Sugar, Sugar" on the web as kids.
What it does
A landing page was made to inform the user of the game. Screenshots, controls, a story, and a download button are neatly displayed on the site.
How we built it
We used Visual Studio & C++ and Visual Studio Code & HTML + CSS to create a website & game. Git and Github were also utilized for version control. JavaScript & Twilio Email API will be utilized on a later version. Built a Particle Engine to simulate coins falling due to gravity.
Challenges we ran into
Setting up C++, HTML, CSS, and Git. We also could not use JavaScript and Twilio Email API due to a lack of internet/server-side resources for hosting a database. Creating a responsive website
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Set up a clean landing page with a functional download function. Smooth game mechanics with multiple levels and creative and consistent Pixel art style through game and website.
What we learned
How to create a download file function with HTML, limitations of JavaScript, more efficient version control, and how to code in C++ more efficiently.
What's next for Money, Money
Creating a database on a server to host the website. Then we can utilize Twilio's Email API to email people who downloaded the game a thank you letter, and to check out other games made by the creators of Money, Money. Adding an end screen saying click to redeem saved change for a Bitcoin.
