Inspiration We were inspired by the thought of helping out our local community to be able to find deliciously affordable recipes in the year of 2024. Such aspirations led us to create the project "Monch.club", which we have all fallen in love with and are passionately continuing to design and work together on as a team.
What it does A tool to help users who are financially responsible or on their way, find the most affordable ingredients from various grocers to cook meals that appeal to them. Monch.club brings back the fun in eating while staying within budget.
How we built it Back-End: Auth0, Flask, Python Front-End: Bootstrap, Javascript, HTML, CSS
Challenges we ran into One challenge that we ran into was with routing with flask. It was a little confusing at first, however after many attempts of trial and error, we managed to resolve the error and learn the reason why it was happening.
Accomplishments we are proud of Our members were able to use flask for the first time. We were also able to incorporate Bootstrap into our project and also host the web application on the cloud. We are very proud of the teamwork that was implemented to get us to our end goal.
What we learned The most notable would have to be learning how to use and implement APIs into our programming projects. We also figured out how to host servers on a cloud. Both skills are incredibly useful for future projects.
What's next for Monch? There is no shortcoming to the thought of food becoming more expensive in the current day; yet we desire as the youth to help others stay on the best path toward a brighter future. While "Monch" is not yet at its full potential we still see that it can become the shining beacon of our community as we move forward with it. The next step would be to be able to implement more stores into its database to give users seen more options to save money and find the food they truly desire. GO MONCH!
