Monarch Butterfly Migration Tracker App

I created an app to track the migration of monarch butterflies in order to support their survival and long-term proliferation.

With monarch populations declining due to habitat loss and climate change, the app empowers individuals and communities to:

  • Identify, protect, and enhance critical way stations along their migratory path
  • Map sightings of monarch butterflies in real-time
  • Coordinate efforts to grow native milkweed and nectar-rich gardens

By creating a connected network of food and shelter, the app maximizes the monarchs’ chances of safe migration across North America.

This initiative blends citizen science with conservation, turning everyday gardeners into active stewards of a threatened species.
