Inspiration
Home insurance is one of the most important financial protections people have—but for first-time homeowners, it’s confusing, opaque, and overwhelming. Most people don’t understand what they’re paying for, what’s actually covered, or how their behavior affects risk. We were inspired to bridge this gap by turning insurance education into something interactive and engaging. Instead of reading policies, we wanted users to experience risk, understand consequences, and make smarter decisions through a gamified platform.
What it does
Mona Mi is an interactive, AI-powered experience that teaches new homeowners how insurance works through real-life simulations.
Users: Input basic home and lifestyle data Receive a personalized home risk score Play through levels that simulate real-world scenarios:
- Fire damage
- Theft
- Storm events
At each step, users:
- Make decisions (e.g., buy insurance, fix risks, ignore issues)
- See instant feedback + AI explanations
By the end, users understand:
- What homeowners insurance covers
- How risk affects cost
- How to choose the right policy
