Inspiration- Many programming learners struggle with consistency despite strong motivation. Momentum was inspired by the need to turn long-term coding goals into structured, trackable daily progress.
What it does- Momentum is an adaptive programming planner that breaks learning goals into daily checklists while tracking streaks, levels, and visual progress analytics to maintain consistency.
How we built it - I built Momentum using HTML, CSS, and Vanilla JavaScript, leveraging LocalStorage for persistent progress tracking, Chart.js for analytics, and the Browser Notification API for reminders.
Challenges we ran into- Designing an accurate streak system that handles missed days correctly and maintaining persistent state without a backend were the biggest technical challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of- I successfully implemented real-time progress tracking, a functional streak system, gamified levels, and analytics — all in a lightweight browser-based application.
What we learned-We gained deeper experience in state management, logic design for streak systems, and building engaging user experiences using pure frontend technologies.
What's next for Momentum-Future improvements include cloud sync, AI-powered adaptive learning paths, calendar-based tracking, and enhanced performance analytics.
