We all experience meaningful moments every day — small thoughts, quick ideas, beautiful sights — but they disappear because they’re scattered across different apps or forgotten completely. We wanted a single, elegant space where memories of all kinds can be captured instantly and relived naturally. That’s how Momentale was born.

What it does

Momentale is a camera-first digital memory companion. It lets you quickly capture: Photos of moments around you Notes for thoughts and ideas Voice recordings for emotion and spontaneity Checklists for tasks and reminders Everything is automatically organized into your daily timeline, calendar, and collections, making it effortless to preserve and rediscover your life story.

Challenges we ran into

Achieving seamless audio recording + playback inside Expo Making the UI feel premium, focused, and emotionally appealing Structuring data so photos, notes, and tasks align across timeline & calendar Implementing gesture-based controls like hold-to-record and swipe navigation Balancing feature richness with simplicity and speed Accomplishments that we're proud of Built a fully working prototype with camera, notes, reminders, and voice captures Designed a premium brand identity and interface for a better emotional experience Created a unified memory system that connects daily content automatically Delivered smooth onboarding and navigation for quick capture on the go Completed major feature improvements within a very short timeframe

What we learned

Real memories are more than photos — context and emotion matter UI/UX greatly influences whether users return to an app Thoughtful shortcuts like gestures improve speed and delight Iterating with AI can accelerate feature decisions and design quality Focus is everything — build only what strengthens the core experience
