The idea for Moments was born from a fundamental tension in modern digital life: we want the benefits of AI-powered insights, but we're increasingly concerned about privacy and data security.

Most journaling apps force you to choose: either store everything locally (missing out on AI capabilities) or sync everything to the cloud (sacrificing privacy). We wanted to prove that you can have both—intelligent, personalized insights without compromising your most private thoughts.

The inspiration came from three core observations:

  1. Privacy Paradox: Users want AI features but don't trust cloud storage with their personal thoughts
  2. Data Minimization: Not all data needs the same level of security—profile information can be encrypted in the cloud, but personal moments should stay local
  3. User Experience: Journaling should be frictionless, beautiful, and meaningful—not a chore

We envisioned an app where your daily moments remain completely private on your device, while your basic profile information is securely tokenized using enterprise-grade encryption. This hybrid approach respects user privacy while enabling powerful features like mood tracking, pattern detection, and personalized summaries.
