Inspiration

We all have these random thoughts where we vaguely remember a random scene or piece of information that we want to find. We spend ages and ages scrolling through our history looking for an exact video that we don't even remember when we watched.

What it does

It's a google and microsoft extension that allows you to search in your Youtube and Google visit and search history. It lets you search for exact quotes, visual scenes, and even general descriptions when you can only vaguely remember what you saw or read.

How we built it

We built it to grab information from videos and google searches such as text and audio. This all gets put into a mini language learning model that determines the relevancy of each item in your history to your search, and it matches you to specific moments within a piece of content.

Challenges we ran into

We had to deal with the ai adding in parts that we did not ask it to. We were able to prompt it and fix those issues as we went. We all had different schedules that we had to work around as well, but we navigated by keeping communications and constantly working hard when we had the chance to.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to get through our first hackathon (for the most part) together! We all learned so much from each other and we helped each other out when we struggled in certain areas. We worked well together while navigating different schedules, and we were able to delegate different tasks based on our strengths as a group who mostly didn't know each other before this.

What we learned

We learned about how to work together as a team in such a short and intense time period. We learned more about the process of creating a project, such as what to download, how to interconnect code with an application, how to work as a team, and so much more.

What's next for WebLapse

We plan to keep editing the extension to make it more efficient and user friendly! We want to spread it to friends to get their feedback and see how far we can take it.
