🌟 Inspiration

Inspired by forgetful people everywhere and the moms who never forget to remind us! 👩‍👧‍👦 We wanted to create an app that reminds you to complete tasks exactly when and where you need to.

📱 What it does

"Mom Said" sends location-based reminders, notifying you when you’re near a spot where a task needs to be done. Set time ranges, get notified, and mark tasks as completed. ✅

🛠️ How we built it

We used React Native with Expo, integrated Google Maps for location services, and implemented background location tracking with Android notifications.

🚧 Challenges we ran into

Going through lots of trial and error since the most popular way was to set up a server to send notifications, but we knew this could be done without a server by using background tasks.
Handling multiple states and managing them efficiently.
Optimizing the app to run smoothly without draining battery life. 🔋
