Inspiration

Mom-e calculates how much money a user can realistically invest each month and helps increase it through saving missions. Users can clearly see the monthly and yearly impact of each decision. With Future Map, they can also visualize how those savings could grow over time.

What it does

Mom-e calculates how much money a user can realistically invest each month and helps increase it through saving missions. Users can clearly see the monthly and yearly impact of each decision. With Future Map, they can also visualize how those savings could grow over time.

How we built it

We built Mom-e natively for iOS using SwiftUI and an MVVM structure. Missions, expenses, and user data are stored locally with SwiftData, enabling real-time UI updates across the app. The app is organized around the Dashboard, Missions, Future Map, and onboarding flow. Subscription screens are ready, and RevenueCat integration is planned as the next step for payments.

Challenges we ran into

The hardest part was keeping finance simple without making it feel shallow. We also had to design the experience around moms’ reality: limited time, constant interruptions, and mental load. Everything needed to feel fast, clear, and easy to continue later without losing progress or motivation. Another challenge was market research. Even though the single mom segment is massive, it is not always tracked as a direct “app market.” This made TAM / SAM / SOM analysis essential, since defining the real market size is critical for the product’s long-term direction, growth strategy, and future investment planning.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Instead of building another app that only tracks expenses, we focused on real actions that help users save money. With Smart Tools like Swap Market, Price Comparison, and Marketplace, Mom-e became more than a budgeting app—it became a practical tool for daily life. Future Map added an extra layer of motivation by showing what small monthly savings can turn into in the long run.

What we learned

Before working on this, we didn’t fully realize how heavy the financial and emotional pressure is for moms, especially single parents. What we learned is simple: people don’t just want numbers, they want guidance. When saving is broken into small clear steps, it feels possible—and that creates real confidence.

What's next for Mom-e : Budget Saver for Moms

Our first priority is reaching more moms and turning Mom-e into a product that creates real impact at scale. After that, we want to make the investment side more direct and more automated, so users can grow their savings inside the app through financial integrations.
