Inspiration

I've always had an interest for evolution and investigating the history of what has come to be. The debate over which came first, DNA or RNA, fascinated me. Once I read the problem task and explored the different means of comparison, I knew I had to use this opportunity to learn more about the intricacies of early life.

What it does

It stimulates how DNA and RNA behave under different planetary conditions, comparing their stability using toy datasets. It also generates plots and CSV files to visualise which molecule survives better under varying conditions

How we built it

Using google colab

Challenges we ran into

Finding a good data set to use, instead I overcame it by using the information I found from different datasets to create a toy data set

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Building a working simulation in a short amount of time

What we learned

I learned how to use Google Colab, a relatively new platform for me, and learned how and where I can look for datasets.

What's next for Molecules in space- DNA and RNA stability explorer

Future versions can incorporate real datasets and explore more conditions other than the ones I have already explored
