Inspiration
Create a service to let people use the photos taken with their smartphones and buy personalized products made with their own photo. Today it's easy to take hundreds of photos and just keep them inside our phones or computers forever. We would like people to be able to see their shots every day by creating a product themselves.
What it does
It allow people to easily preserve their favorite photos, arts and memories in a product.
How we built it
The project web site were built using Yii Framework 2, PHP5, CSS, HTML, Javascript, jQuery and MySQL on the backend. We also used third party APIs for some services like email sending and payment gateways.
Challenges I ran into
Payment gateways was a challenge to integrate because of security concerns.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We developed a tool that allow people to crop their uploaded photos to the size and format they want to. We also created a simulator where people can check how their photos will look like when applied to the available products. This involved a lot of CSS rules.
What we learned
We learned how to consume third parties APIs and build our own APIs in this project.
