Inspiration
As you might already know, being a college student isn't easy. One can easily spend hours studying and working on assignments everyday. However, these activites often are a student's top priority, even over their own health. Hydration is extremely important for the body to function effectively, and college students aren't getting enough of it. This gave us the idea to create Moist Meter, which tracks daily water intake so students can keep track of how much they should be drinking in a day.
What it does
Moist Meter first asks for the user's weight to calculate how much water the user should be drinking daily. Next, the user inputs how much water they just drank. Based off this number, a bar will fill based off of the amount of water drank so far and the total amount of water the user needs to drink.
How we built it
JavaFX and Scene Builder
Challenges we ran into
Carrying over variables into a different scene
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Functioning application after many bugs
What we learned
Team work, project planning+management, app development
What's next for Moist Meter
In the future, Moist Meter can add an option where a user can select a water bottle model they use for water. Instead of inputting the exact measurement for their water intake, a user can just indicate that they have drank one bottle from their selected water bottle, and Moist Meter will add that amount of water to the daily intake.
