Inspiration

My friend Adam likes to tinker with analog electronics and I like putting things together. Audio is also an interesting field so this is a culmination of our interests.

What it does

The part I built was a voltage controlled amplifier which changes the amplitude of a signal with varying voltage inputs.

How I built it

Breadboard, bby. And internet. And wonderful mentorship from my friend Adam.

Challenges I ran into

Wiring is very important. One misplaced or missing component will be disastrous. Also understand the whole schematic before making it is important or else you will have redundant parts or not know why certain parts are working.

Prototyping is also important! But don't be slow either.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

It worked!

What I learned

Modular is good. The entire thing cannot be made in 24 hours but thanks to the modular aspect you can it piece by piece. Sort of like functions in code.

What's next for Modular Synthesizer

Fix the power supply, build a better envelope generator, attach it to a speaker, make app for it, have fun.
