Inspiration

We live in a time where the line between real and synthetic content is vanishing. From AI-generated deepfakes to cloned voices, digital trust is collapsing — with real-world consequences.

While synthetic media can enhance accessibility, education, and creativity, it also enables fraud, political manipulation, and emotional harm.

ModGuard AI was built to act as a digital immune system for this new reality — defending truth while enabling innovation.

What It Does

ModGuard AI is a real-time content moderation and deepfake detection platform designed for enterprises, public institutions, and ethical AI coalitions.

Key Features:

  • Multimodal deepfake detection (video, audio, text)
  • Cultural sensitivity filters across regions
  • Explainable AI overlays for every detection event
  • 3D Threat Map Explorer with clickable data points
  • Compliance-ready reporting (GDPR, EU AI Act, ISO 42001)
  • Fellowship Portal with resume upload + AI onboarding
  • Audit trails with hash-backed logs + export (PDF, JSON)

How I Built It

  • Bolt.new for frontend, animation, and UI system
  • Node.js + Express backend with MongoDB Atlas
  • OpenAI & ElevenLabs for content processing
  • Mapbox + Three.js for interactive globe
  • Figma + WCAG 2.1 design system for accessibility
  • Built solo in under 2 weeks — design, UX, engineering, and storytelling

Challenges I Ran Into

  • Making explainability UX simple enough for C-suite buyers
  • Designing moderation models that work cross-culturally
  • Real-time responsiveness for voice + video flagging
  • Building enterprise polish and compliance readiness as a solo founder
  • Avoiding bloat while maximizing features and clarity

Accomplishments That I'm Proud Of

  • Built an enterprise-grade AI moderation tool solo
  • Designed a student-facing Fellowship portal for Gen Z contributors
  • Achieved full WCAG 2.1 accessibility and responsive UX
  • Developed a modular GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance) roadmap
  • Aligned platform for enterprise + institutional trust use cases

What I Learned

  • Ethical AI isn’t just about models — it’s about how you communicate their impact
  • Explainability is a product feature, not just a compliance task
  • Design systems rooted in trust = stronger engagement + retention
  • Building with empathy, clarity, and structure can create real-world traction
  • You can build something scalable, compliant, and beautiful — even solo

What's Next for ModGuard AI

  • Launching closed beta cohort for enterprise security and ethics teams
  • Scaling the ModGuard Fellowship Portal to onboard ethical AI interns
  • Publishing a global "Digital Trust Index" threat report
  • Preparing for Seed-stage funding to expand globally
  • Partnering with compliance leaders to become the default AI audit layer
