Inspiration
Our inspiration for ModePad stems from witnessing promising cryptocurrency projects with great utility and strong community backing struggling in the crypto space due to a lack of liquidity. Recognizing the need for a solution, ModePad was conceived to empower teams with substantial potential and utility, providing them with the funding needed to thrive in the crypto ecosystem.
What it does
ModePad serves as a revolutionary LaunchPad platform, specifically tailored for fundraising and the initial distribution of new cryptocurrency projects building on the Mode blockchain.
It streamlines the fundraising and token distribution process, offering an efficient, reliable and secure platform for crypto projects to list their projects and investors or degens to jump in early into projects before they hit their full scale.
How we built it
Like an artist, we carefully built ModePad using a combination of cutting-edge technologies.
We created ModePad, a LaunchPad decentralized application on the Mode blockchain, simplifying fundraising for new crypto projects. The focus was on user-friendly design, smart contracts for automation, and a user-oriented interface.
We built a Solidity smart contract factory LaunchPad Contract Factory that deploys new Launchpad smart contracts and initializes them in the same deploy function.
The technical details for this is explained in detail in our documentation:
https://mide-sofek.gitbook.io/modepad/technical-docs/smart-contract-architecture
Technologies utilized include Solidity for smart contracts, Next.js for frontend development, Ethers.js for Ethereum interactions, Firebase for backend support, and the Mode blockchain for the core infrastructure.
Challenges we ran into
One of our primary challenges revolved around achieving a seamless integration between the smart contract and the backend system.
Ensuring the flawless interaction and synchronization of these components required careful attention and innovative problem-solving.
Specifically, we ran into BigNumber issues passing Ether values from the frontend contract to the smart contract deployed on the blockchain
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our significant achievement lies in successfully integrating ModePad with Mode's unique Sequential Fee Sharing (SFS) mechanism.
This accomplishment not only enhances the functionality of our platform and motivation to build but also demonstrates our commitment to utilizing innovative features within the Mode ecosystem.
What we learned
The development of ModePad provided us with invaluable insights into the intricacies of the Mode blockchain, particularly its SFS technology.
Through hands-on experience, we deepened our understanding of blockchain dynamics and the nuances of building sophisticated platforms within this ecosystem.
Primarily, we increased our knowledge of L2s, the role of sequencers and how Layer2 blockchains are fundamental to scaling the crypto ecosystem.
What's next for ModePad
Looking ahead, our roadmap for ModePad includes exciting features such as token locker and auto liquidity integration into the most popular Mode decentralized exchange (DEX).
We plan to launch on the development mainnet (Dev Mainnet) initially, then get realtime feedback from real users, before fully transitioning to the Mode mainnet network, once it is fully released.
