Inspiration
Students often wish to seek more information about modules they are going to or wish to take, and value reading authentic personal experiences with emotions. AI is unable to source these school centric metrics which are also often preferred to be kept confidential.
What it does
It is a platform which allows students to rate and review modules they have taken, while also allowing them to learn about other modules offered in the school. Teachers are able to upload preview materials for modules, and students can upload their own notes for other students to view. They are also able to discuss on a dedicated forum under every module.
How we built it
It was built using Jetpack Compose and Google Firebase.
Challenges we ran into
GitHub was uncooperative at times.
What we learned
We learnt how to use Appwrite to store files for free.
What's next for Moddy
This application can become a template platform for many schools in Singapore, pushing scalability and a possible business model.
