Headline
With the constant popularity of sports, gaming, and other activities that requires spending time with family or having a good time, there was a common problem on all these occasions. The bartender or waiter can't get to you in time and provide you with your intended drinks to have a great time or even just quench your thirst. Our project allows for an alternative method to automatically get your desired drink combination! We were inspired by trying to make this process more efficient to reduce stress not only on the waiter (because food industries can be difficult) but allow customers to get their drinks in a quick and innovative way.
What we learned
In this project, we learned how to use the Arduino software and its intended code in order to make a button function that will also dispense water. Simultaneously, with our narrow time gap, we learned how to do the design process, manufacturing, and coding all in one while working in a team setting. Lastly, a big thing that we learned is how to do the circuitry in order to provide the option of two drinks to be used in our demo.
How we built
We built our project by first modeling our design in Solidworks and translating that to real-world materials in order to start building the foundation of our project. We spent countless hours choosing the material and then settled on wood. We made a base foundation in order to hold four reservoirs to dispense the drinks. Next, we managed to figure out the circuits to get our desired results by learning Arduino from scratch. Lastly, we traced the circuits and hardware aspects to correlating code to provide options such as if a certain button is pressed it will dispense a certain drink. With all the fundamentals down we put them together to make our project.
