Inspiration

Training need for finance students and investors.

What it does

It tracks the real stock prices with the help of blackrock APIs. Customer can register account with email / google, then perform a series of transactions to real stocks with virtual money.

How we built it

The backend is hosted in firebase. Most program logic are implemented with JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

All those API traffic need to be done asynchronously. We wrote a plenty of ECMAScript with promise operation to handle those operations carefully.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is the first time for us to hack a full-stack project in 36 hours! We really love this hackathon.

What we learned

Have a look at the third party APIs, their service may not be exactly what you want!

What's next for Mock Trading

Many things to do: better UI, scalability, and so on.
