Inspiration

The idea for “Elevate your reality. Build worlds that move with you.” was born from a simple desire: to break the boundaries between mobile experiences and immersive world-building. We noticed how much time people spend on their phones and wanted to transform that passive scrolling into active creation and connection, letting anyone craft and live inside a world that moves with them throughout their day.

What it does

Our project, “Elevate your reality. Build worlds that move with you.”, empowers anyone to create, customize, and live inside mobile worlds seamlessly.

🌎 Create Your World Anywhere: Users can build and shape immersive 3D spaces directly from their phone with intuitive gestures and taps.

🤝 Social Co-Creation: Friends can join your world, explore, and build together in real time, enhancing connection and creativity.

🛠️ Modular, Easy Tools: Snap-to-place objects, ambient sounds, and interactive elements make it easy to design personalized environments.

⚡ Responsive and Lightweight: Worlds load quickly and adapt to your movement, letting you take your world wherever you go.

🌟 Expression and Play: From designing cozy virtual rooms to interactive game spaces, users can shape experiences that reflect their mood and style.

In essence, it turns your mobile device into a canvas for creating, sharing, and living inside worlds, elevating your everyday reality.

How we built it

We used Unity and Meta Horizon SDK for building seamless, low-latency mobile environments that sync with movement and gestures. Key steps included:

Prototyping an interactive 3D space optimized for mobile and XR.

Integrating gesture-based controls for world manipulation.

Designing lightweight, modular assets to keep the experience smooth on mobile hardware.

Implementing social layers for shared spaces, enabling friends to join your mobile world easily.

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring low-latency performance across different devices without sacrificing visual appeal.

Building intuitive gesture and touch interfaces that feel natural for first-time users.

Maintaining synchronization and stability in shared spaces, especially under variable network conditions.

Designing a scalable modular system for creators without overwhelming them with options.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built a fully functional prototype that seamlessly blends mobile and XR world-building.

Achieved smooth, low-latency performance across multiple mobile devices without sacrificing interactivity.

Designed an intuitive gesture and touch interface, making world creation accessible even to first-time users.

Enabled real-time shared spaces, allowing friends to join and co-create effortlessly.

Created modular, lightweight assets to let users personalize their worlds while maintaining performance.

Received positive feedback during testing, with users describing the experience as “freeing” and “fun to play with on the go.”

Developed a scalable architecture, making it easy to expand features and support creator monetization in the future.

What we learned

User Agency Matters: People love small touches that let them shape their environment with ease.

Optimization is Everything: Balancing performance and quality is crucial for a seamless mobile XR experience.

Social Connection Drives Retention: Testing showed that users returned more often when they could share or co-create with friends inside their world.

What's next for Mobius Horizon

We’re excited to continue elevating how people create and live inside mobile worlds. Our next steps for Mobius Horizon include:

🚀 Expanded World Templates: Offering curated templates (meditation spaces, cozy studios, mini-game arenas) to help users start creating instantly.

🤝 Enhanced Social Features: Adding live voice chat, friend tagging, and collaborative challenges inside worlds.

🌐 Cross-Platform Sync: Enabling seamless transitions between mobile and VR headsets, letting users pick up where they left off.

🎨 Creator Monetization: Introducing a marketplace for creators to share and monetize unique assets and experiences.

⚡ AR Layer Integration: Adding AR overlays so users can blend parts of their Mobius Horizon world with their physical environment.

📈 User Feedback Loops: Continuously refining interfaces and features based on early adopter feedback.

🛡️ Accessibility & Safety: Ensuring worlds remain safe, inclusive, and easy to moderate.
