Inspiration

The inspiration for this project came from observing the daily struggles faced by individuals with mobility issues when using public transportation. Seeing the challenges they face in finding accessible spaces on trains, we were motivated to create a solution that would enhance their travel experience and promote inclusivity in public transit.

What it does

Mobility for Everybody is an app designed to help people with mobility issues find accessible spaces in train carriages. The app provides real-time information on the availability of these spaces, allowing users to plan their journey with confidence. It also offers additional features such as route planning, alerts for upcoming stops, and accessibility information for different train lines.

Challenges we ran into

Data Accuracy: Ensuring the real-time data on accessible spaces is accurate and reliable was a significant challenge. We had to work closely with train operators to integrate their systems with our app. User Diversity: Catering to a diverse user base with varying degrees of disability required extensive testing and iteration to make sure the app is universally accessible. Technical Integration: Integrating with existing transportation systems and ensuring our app could handle real-time updates without lag was technically demanding. Design: Striking a balance between functionality and simplicity was crucial. We needed to ensure the app is feature-rich yet easy to navigate for all users.
