Mobiliti is software that allows rapid creation of native mobile apps by programmers who have no expertise in mobile technology. It is primarily intended for enterprise apps that need to connect to corporate data, and also need to perform business processing in the field. Unlike other toolkits that are focused on creating flashy consumers apps with social or game content, this technology simplifies app development for businesses. The framework includes features such as: authentication, granular security on data elements, data updating, drill-down into master/detail relationships, and location display. App content and dynamic screen layouts can be driven completely from a server including remote deployment. Data content determines what features are automatically enabled such as mapping, location tracking, barcode reading, photo taking, turn-by-turn navigation, etc. For example, an address field will turn on Google maps support/features with distance sorting and directions without the developer having to write a single line of code.

This is ideally suited for companies that want to mobilize corporate data/processes using regular developers… all they need to know is basic XML and Java… screen navigation, content display, security, and network communication are automatically handled by the framework. A business using this technology can realize substantial reductions in development costs through the elimination of expensive custom development firms or mobile experts and future maintenance support. There is no other technology with similar built-in server-side components that facilitate a server centric solution, and nothing can compete with the cost reductions this framework provides.

Use cases for the technology include field service orders for utilities, warehouse inventories, on-site surveys/forms, inspections, equipment tracking, etc. using inexpensive tablets. The platform was designed specifically for businesses needing mobile solutions where the complexities of mobile techniques are hidden so the developer focuses solely on data extraction and business processes, not application creation.

The framework has already been developed for the Android platform... in the future, other platforms will include iOS and Windows Phone.
