An online team game that tests your knowledge of mental health - earn points & redeem magical weapons to rescue FRIEND from DEPRESSION's dungeon - suitable for all genders aged 8-15
Mental health affects 1 in 4 people per year in England. We wanted to create a game that makes people feel better and educates them about where to get help.
What it does
Educates young people about mental health issues and where to get help in a game
How we built it
We built a mockup prototype using Figma and demonstration of example code in Python
Challenges we ran into
We have never done a hackathon before or used Figma. Also, many team members were ill or had other commitments.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have a working prototype that looks attractive and working code
What we learned
It's difficult to build a prototype in 24 hours and every member of the team counts. We learned to use new software Figma, Python in an Object Orientated manner, and how to use GitHub too.
What's next for MMindQuest
We will expand to other mental health issues (not just focussing on depression) and enable a chat function to talk to send each other happy quotes. Also, we look to incorporate computer vision or AR into the game in future.
