Inspiration

"The inspiration for 'MLB Fan Connect' stemmed from a desire to enhance the fan experience beyond traditional sports apps. I wanted to create a platform that truly connected fans with the game, delivering personalized content and fostering a deeper engagement. The MLB Hackathon, with its focus on leveraging Google Cloud, provided the perfect opportunity to bring this vision to life."

What it does

"MLB Fan Connect is a mobile application that delivers a personalized experience for baseball fans. Key features include:

Personalized content recommendations based on user preferences (favorite teams, players, etc.) A user-friendly interface with intuitive navigation

How I built it

"I leveraged the power of Google Cloud throughout the development process.

Colab served as my development environment for the recommendation engine. I explored various algorithms and iteratively refined the model to provide the most relevant content to users. Cloud Functions were instrumental in enabling real-time delivery of personalized content, ensuring a seamless and timely experience for users. Android Studio was the platform for building the mobile application. I utilized Kotlin and Jetpack Compose to design and develop a user-friendly and intuitive interface."

Challenges I ran into

"One of the primary challenges was developing a robust and accurate recommendation algorithm. I explored various approaches and iteratively refined the model to ensure the highest level of personalization. Another significant challenge was integrating the Cloud Function with the Android app seamlessly. I overcame this by carefully designing the data exchange and ensuring smooth communication between the two components."

Accomplishments that I am proud of

I also plan to explore leveraging Gemini models for enhanced content creation, such as generating personalized summaries of game highlights or even interactive stories. I believe 'MLB Fan Connect' has the potential to revolutionize the way fans engage with the game, and I am excited to continue exploring its potential."
