Inspiration
This project is driven by the love for baseball’s rich history and the endless "what-if" debates that fuel fan passion. What if Babe Ruth faced Shohei Ohtani? Could a prime Pedro Martínez shut down Aaron Judge?
What it does
MLB Clutch Collision brings these dream matchups to life combining cutting-edge AI, historical data, and immersive commentary to create the ultimate fantasy showdown. It’s not just a simulation—it’s a way to relive history, rewrite narratives, and spark new conversations.
How we built it
I built it after days without sleep (just kidding), but I found out about it very late—just two weeks ago. Still, I took it on as a challenge. I’ve built it with heart and always with MLB’s needs in mind—especially attracting a younger audience.
Challenges we ran into
Many issues: Google services didn’t run on the first try, like Functions and Dataflow, and AutoML never worked. Version inconsistencies between my two laptops—fun and stressful at the same time!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I’m proud of my ability to push a solution forward and stay focused on the core need, to keep going despite the many failures during this hackathon that could have made me give up.
What we learned
I learned that there is always room to create, that in sports and many other fields, there’s an opportunity to build something for those who need it. I learned that you can always go the extra mile.
What's next for MLB Clutch Collision
A lot. On the technology side, there are immersive experiences where this could be just the beginning. On my end, I want to further professionalize my skills in Google Cloud technologies. Even though I’m a Google-certified Professional ML Engineer, I still have a lot to learn.
