Inspiration

We wanted to create the first Open NFT marketplace for NEAR blockchain where anyone can use their minted NFT from any other contract. NFT can be sold or bought like its made on OpenSea on Etherium.

What it does

MjolNear is the open marketplace that enables everyone to sell their NFTs from other marketplaces, games or simple NFT collections. Moreover, MjolNear allows creators to mint new NFT using our no-code editor.

How we built it

We have developed NFt contract for minting new NFTs and collections. Additionaly, we have created the marketplace contract that manages all sales on MjolNear. We managed to develop a simple and flexible UI that can easily bring anyone to the NFT world using MjolNear. We have written smart contracts using Rust and developed UI with Reac, JS, TS and some useful APIs for Near. Moreover, we have optimized queries to blockchain usin indexer on The Graph Protocol. It actually helped us to track the history of NFTs and collections on MjolNear.

Challenges we ran into

It was kinda chalegeful to dig into NFT core of NEAR, learning different standards and ways to communicate between contracts. Creating of indexer brought us many problems with blockchain synchronization but finally we have figured it out.

What we learned

Now we are experienced with NEPs on NEAR and we have learned how to create indexer for any dApp. Developing this project was really challengful but we did it and took a lot of useful staff for future developing on NEAR ecosystem.

What's next for MjolNear

We are going to improve the functionality of collections by adding more interesting features. Moreover, the nearest feature on our roadmap is to create a launchpad for NFT collections. It enables the possibility for everyone to mint random NFT from collection with specific traits.
