Inspiration

Most of the team works at WMTU

What it does

Loads and plays music from MP3s and Flacs. Lets you modify the tags of the songs, and create mixes.

How we built it

Used Python, with a Github for management. We split off and worked on different elements of the code, namely the GUI, backend metadata scraping, and the interface between the two.

Challenges we ran into

Implenting the TKinter GUI and learning Python. Most of our group had never or only sparsely used Python before, so learning it and libraries simultaneously was difficult.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting the GUI to interface with the backend, and the implementations of the Mixer and music players

What we learned

We learned a lot about Python and libraries for it, as well as team organization.

What's next for MixTaper

Continued work to modify and play around with it- try to add an explicit filter.
