Inspiration

We wanted to make cocktail culture globally accessible — bringing together recipes, history, and cultural context in a fun, inclusive way.

What it does

MixBooze offers a multilingual platform with curated cocktail & mocktail recipes, rich stories about their origins, and easy discovery by style, region or ingredient.

How I built it

Built with a modern web stack (backend API + frontend UI), multilingual architecture, and a content workflow that supports translations and storytelling alongside recipes.

Challenges I ran into

Handling multilingual content and cultural nuance; designing a cohesive data structure for recipes + histories + translations; standing out among many recipe sites.

Accomplishments that I’m proud of

Launching the live platform, supporting multiple languages from day one, and delivering a unique mix of recipe + story + culture that engages home-bartenders and curious readers alike.

What I learned

Global accessibility means more than translating words — it’s about cultural context, UX design matters from the start, and storytelling drives engagement as much as utility.

What’s next for MixBooze

Expand into more languages and regions, build community features for user-submitted recipes, and evolve towards richer content like videos or personalized experiences.
